FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions

I just asked for a quote, what happens next?

I will do some research based on the details you provided, your current website and produce a simple competitor analysis. I will then use this research to produce a project plan and quote for a website that can compete and outperform your competitors. I will then make an initial contact with you to talk about your requirements in detail and decide on a solution, pricing, and delivery timeframe.

How much does a website cost?

What your website will cost will depend on a number of variables, the number of pages, layouts and its functionalities. As all websites I build are bespoke, I can only provide you with an exact cost after understanding your requirements. As a guide, marketing website prices start from £1,490. Prices for ecommerce and larger sites start from £2,995.

What process do you follow?

Every project starts with defining the main objectives and goals. In-Depth research is then carried out to outline user needs, market analysis, and usability requirements. Based on these, sketches wire-frames are created followed by static designs and assets. Once the designs are approved, the site is developed, tested and launched according to the project plan.

How long does it take to build a website?

A typical marketing site takes around three to four weeks to design and develop. Some sites can take months to build and this can be due to their size and complexity.

What are your payment terms?

A project starts with a 50% deposit followed by a 30% payment once the design phase is complete. The final 20% needs to be paid before the website is launched.

What do I need to provide you with to get started?

As part of a project initiation signoff, you need to provide the following assets. These will determine the look and feel of your website hence it is important you have an idea of the style and amount you want on each page. I can also help with branding and asset sourcing.
Copy - For each page, it doesn't have to be a final piece as this can be adjusted later on.
Images - High-resolution images of your products, services and business.
Branding - High-resolution logo and any other marketing assets you have.

What platform do you build your websites on?

I build most sites with WordPress as it gives me the flexibility to build great solutions. Using WordPress, I have delivered hundreds of successful web projects from typical marketing sites to large travel site with thousands of pages and a public health portal. I can also build sites on Umbraco (ASP), Joomla and Magento.

Do you offer training on how to manage my website?

After your project completion, we can arrange an hour-long training to walk you through your new site. At the end of this training, you will be able to complete most day to day site maintenance tasks without any help. We can arrange to have the training via Google Hangouts, Skype screen sharing or face to face.

Will my website be Search Engine (SEO) friendly?

In addition to web design and WordPress development, SEO is another service I specialise in. Your new site will be optimised professionally and will be indexed on search engines. After the launch of your website, we can discuss about an ongoing marketing plan to help with your sites’ search rankings.

Do you offer hosting services?

I offer web hosting service which comes with lots of great features. You can also have your site hosted elsewhere. Contact me to find out about my hosting plans.

Do you offer support and maintenance services after launch?

Every site I build comes with a FREE one-month support plan which includes, style and functionality fixes and site upgrades. After this period, an ongoing maintenance plan can be discussed.
